Cheshire Regiment
Our affiliated regiment The 1ST Bn The Mercian Regiment (Cheshire) have been completing a 6 month tour of Afghanistan in 2010 and sadly they are taken casualties.
We wish to send our condolences to the families of the brave who have been killed or injured in the line of duty

May 2011 meeting/mini reunion Reunion will be held on Saturday 7 May in the CRA (Cheshire's Regimental Association) in Chester Castle. All Ambusmen & partners are invited. We have also been invited to the Chester regiment on friday 6th May -see below.

We have proposed that the Committee meeting on the 7th May starts at 1100, following which we adjourn to the CRA bar for lunch. In the evening we have suggested a social, probably with curry supper.

We have requested cost estimates for both the Friday races and Saturday social and these will be promulgated when received.

You should note that the Chester hotels book up very quickly over this weekend (and are expensive!). A suggested, more economical alternative would be to stay in Crewe (well known to many of us!) and take the train in to Chester.

The CRA will obviously want to know numbers, so will those interested please let Mike Townson know by email (mike.townson@lineone.net)

"Chester Races will be on that week (Wednesday through Friday) and in fact our own Regimental Race Day takes place on the Friday (6th) at which you, and any other of your members who are coming to Chester, are welcome to join us. The Club will be open in the Courtyard at the rear of the Headquarters from approximately 11 a.m. and of course a beer tent will be open on the race course itself until the end of the last race".
